In 1999 I moved to South East Wales with my family, initially living in Usk and moving to Llangybi 4 years ago. I originate from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne where I qualified in medicine. Over the subsequent 10 years I continued my medical training in many large hospitals throughout England and Wales. I was appointed as a Consultant in 1999.
Having lived in many large cities, I greatly welcomed the opportunity to move to the rural setting of Llangybi where the family have been welcomed. Our children attend schools in Usk and Caerleon and this has led to all the family being involved in many different aspects of the local community.
I have always had a great passion for wildlife and conserving the rural environment.
I hope that my enthusiasm in these areas will be of help to the community council.
As a Consultant working for the local health care trust I am clearly very aware of health issues which may potentially affect the local area. I hope that such knowledge will be of help to the community council in matters involving local medical services.
